St Andrew’s Day Weekend
RIC Aberdeen had a busy weekend! On Saturday, the Aberdeen Trades Union Council organised a St Andrew’s Day march with the theme of ‘Our Future Free From Racism’ to mark the 30-year anniversary of Aberdeen giving the Freedom of the City to Nelson Mandela. It was also the UN Day of Solidarity with Palestine. Our activist Myshele spoke at the rally, alongside comrades from the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the Anti-Fascist Alliance, and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
Sunday was a politics-themed family fun day, organised by RIC Aberdeen activist Soozy and Aberdeen University’s Shared Planet Society. It was a brilliant event, with great food, eco-friendly activities for the kids, and political stalls including the Scottish Green Party, Positive Money, Common Weal, SPSC and CND. Our activist Michael spoke alongside comrades from the other groups.
